Currently our Jet members do not have the ability to select a method of shipping. We suggest to either offer a free shipping or charge per weight and create only one Standard shipping method. JET currently is taking under consideration only standard shipping offer, no need to add other methods which can only confuse their system. JET expects merchants to ship products within 1 day and deliver within 5.
Few official statements we have received from JET support:
- Requested shipping methods on Order Details do not really matter. You should just ship standard shipping, just make sure you do it asap (within 1 business day) and deliver within 5 days. You can see this page for details.
- There is no reason to provide more than one shipping method on your fulfillment node, since JET takes only the first one under consideration. In the future this may change, but at the moment we suggest to either offer a free shipping or charge per weight and create only one Standard shipping method.
- If your products cannot be shipped within 24 hours, you can use Shipping Exceptions and assign them to individual products. This part is a bit tricky on JET and GeekSeller is trying to make it easier to implement it, if you need to implement it, please contact us for details, soon we will provide some more instructions how to do that.
- Charging for shipping is usually a good idea if you take an advantage of Shipping Distance Rules in JET Rules Engine, in this case your shipping prices and the total price as a result will be more attractive for buyers near your warehouse. However, if you keep a standard change per weight, it is usually more beneficial (merchants see more sales) when offering a free shipping and include shipping costs in their product prices.
